Making its first appearance in 1978, the Nike Air Tailwind 79 Shoes have made a strong comeback in the last year and use materials, shapes and colours that are as close to the original as possible. This pumice edition has smooth fabric uppers with matching suede overlays around the front of the foot and back of the heel. On either side of the foot crisp white leather Swoosh ticks have been added for signature branding, which matches the flat cotton laces which provide a secure fit against the cushioned exposed foam tongue. A woven Nike label wraps around the top edge of the tongue and shows signature branding with a team orange coloured Swoosh tick, whilst on the reverse a black leather overlay provides a base for bold, capitalised ‘Nike’ lettering in white. Throughout the inside a breathable mesh lining has been added for comfort, in addition to a Nike Air unit in the heel which offers support. Underneath the white midsole, the black rubber tread pattern continues up the front and back which is seen as a defining feature of the model.

Originally debuted as the Nike Air Tailwind, Nike have reintroduced the model for modern times with updated performance features that enhance the models streamlined aesthetic, which is known for providing speed and comfort.
